Highlights
The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE today. Five to Eight inches of new snow in the past two days has been blown into slabs to one foot in depth on lee slopes that could be triggered by backcountry travelers on steeper slopes. The new, dense snow has come in over light snow that rests on slick crusts. This combination creates easily triggered slides. Stay out of steep ravines and do not sit below steep slopes while others ride them.
