Highlights
The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE today. New snow from last weekends storm has been accompanied by strong winds and has formed surface slabs to 18 inches in depth in the mountains on leeward slopes. Backcountry users could still trigger these slabs today on steep wind loaded aspects, which may step down to deep early season faceted instabilities. The snowpack will become more susceptible to failure if significant warming occurs.
