Avalanche Summary

An Avalanche Watch is in effect for the Ruby and Ragged Ranges beginning Friday evening and lasting through Sunday. Intense snowfall Friday night into Saturday could rapidly increase the avalanche danger through the weekend if higher totals are reached.

For Friday, continue to use caution around drifted slopes on shadier aspects. Avoiding stiffer wind-deposited slabs below ridges or steep breakovers and seeking out softer snow in sheltered areas will help keep you safe.
