Avalanche conditions are dangerous. Recent strong westerly winds built thick slabs of snow far below ridges and in gullies. On north to east through southeast-facing slopes, drifts are resting on collapsible weak layers near the ground. In the past three days, observers reported multiple remotely-triggered avalanches, and most reports mentioned shooting cracks and rumbling collapses. Avoid traveling on or under drifted slopes and think carefully when choosing safe spots.
