Avalanche Summary

Sunday night's storm will not change the avalanche danger. Most slopes are safe from avalanches. The few slopes where you might be able to trigger a small avalanche are where you find about a foot or more of wind-drifted snow on north or northeast-facing slopes just below ridgelines. Even if you are caught in an avalanche here it will be relatively harmless unless it drags you off a cliff or into a creek, so avoid steep slopes above dangerous terrain if you find firm, wind-drifted snow that cracks underneath your feet or machine.
