Areas of light snowfall will develop and increase in intensity after midnight. Periods of moderate to heavy snowfall will occur on Saturday. New snow accumulations of 8 to 16 inches with some favored areas receiving up to 24 inches are expected during the next 24 hours. Southwest winds at 20 to 30 with gusts to 40 miles per hour will accompany this snowfall. Temperatures in the mountains will rise from overnight lows in the upper teens into the upper 20s.
