Highlights
Over 50" of snow, accompanied by strong winds, has fallen at mid and upper elevations in the past week. This has resulted in slabs, some hard, up to three feet in depth that lie upon lighter snow, faceted snow, and crusts. These slabs could be easily triggered today in steep avalanche starting zones and cliff areas. At the low elevations, smaller slabs to eighteen inches in depth lie upon buried surface hoar and could be triggered on steep wind loaded slopes.
