Highlights

Instability persist on a variety of aspects at all elevations. A weak buried layer of surface hoar and old snow surfaces from the January dry spell remain active. This snowpack senario is problematic as some slopes will fail on approach while others fail after multiple crossings and other similar slopes are stable. Yesterday skiers triggered a three foot deep soft slab on a northerly aspect in the Rock Springs drainage and a two foot soft slab from a distance on a lower elevation northerly aspect in the Pinedale drainage. Similar events could be triggered today with severe consequences.
