Highlights

Areas of unstable snow persist as slabs one to three feet in depth lie upon weak faceted snow such as surface hoar and crusts. These slabs could be triggered by backcountry skiers and snowmobiliers today when users penetrate the slab and reach a "trigger point" on steep slopes. Yesterday a snowmobiler triggered and was caught but not buried in such a slide in the Snake River Range.
