Strong winds from the west and southwest on Wednesday night formed drifted slabs of snow below ridges and in gullies. You can trigger slides in the recently drifted snow that could grow large enough to bury you. Watch for drifted snow on northwest through east to south-facing slopes. You can find drifted snow even at lower elevations.
Avoid steep slopes where you see bulbous pillows of recently drifted snow, or observe shooting cracks in the snow. More snow on Friday keeps the danger elevated.
