You can trigger a potentially dangerous wet avalanche on steep slopes that hold continuous snow coverage. Most of these will be small, but they can be dangerous in consequential terrain. Start and end your day early to reduce your risk of encountering wet avalanches. If you are sinking past your ankles in wet snow, you should avoid traveling on steeper slopes.
