Avalanche Summary

You can trigger an avalanche in wind-drifted snow on the leeward side of ridgelines and on wind-loaded rollovers near and above treeline. Most of these avalanches will be small, but they can still take you for a dangerous ride, or on the right wind-loaded slope, they could grow large enough to bury you. Watch out for cracking in the new snow or a smooth, rounded, often wave-like appearance on the snow surface, indicating a wind-loaded slope.

Expect to see some natural small, loose avalanches as the sun comes out on Friday afternoon on sunny slopes and low-elevation shady slopes as well.
