Snowpack Summary

Following the spring-like conditions of the last few days, mountain temperatures remained below the freezing point Thursday night and most of Friday. A solid melt-freeze crust is present on all aspects at all elevations. Traveling conditions are challenging with thin snow coverage and/or icy conditions.

Synopsis: The flow will shift southerly by Friday night, making room for an incoming winter storm expected late Sunday.

Friday evening and night: Clear. No precipitation. South-east wind, 20 km/h. Low -12.

Saturday: Increasing cloudiness. No precipitation. South wind, 20-40 km/h increasing to 60 km/h. High -2. Freezing level around 500 m.

Sunday: Cloudy. Snow beginning late afternoon. 10 cm overnight. South-east wind 50-60 km/h. High -1. Freezing level around 400 m.

Monday: Snow. 5 cm. South-east wind, 40-50 km/h. High -3. Freezing level around 300 m.
