Avalanche Activity

As the temperature drops a moderate avalanche danger will prevail. The prevalence of the avalanche prone locations will increase as the day progresses.

The dangerous spots are found on steep slopes, especially grassy ones, as well as in areas near the ridges and at the base of rock walls, also due to the possibility of debris falling from above. As a consequence of warming during the day and the solar radiation, the likelihood of moist avalanches being released will increase gradually in particular on sunny slopes. Gliding avalanches are also to be expected. The wind slabs are in isolated cases prone to triggering. Backcountry touring calls for experience in the assessment of avalanche danger and careful route selection.

Snowpack Structure

The weather conditions will give rise to rapid softening of the snowpack. Weak layers exist in the snowpack in particular on shady slopes.

Tendency

The weather will be sunny at times. Slight warming.
