Avalanche Activity

Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will remain well bonded, firm and stable in all locations. Any new, moist snow deposits on the highest summits are not expected to be significant. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Moderate South-Easterly winds. Light, intermittent showers, falling as sleety snow only on the highest tops. The freezing level will be on or just above the summits. Observed Weather Influences: Moderate South-Easterly winds. Rain showers. The freezing level rose to around summit level. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is well bonded and stable. A good cover of very firm snow remains on most aspects above 700 metres with patchier cover below. A small amount of moist, fresh overnight snow observed on the higher tops, this presented no hazard. The avalanche hazard is Low.
