Forecast Snow Stability: During the day, increasing winds will lead to redistribution of soft snow resulting in areas of unstable windslab developing mainly on South-West to West aspects above 900 metres. Fragile fresh cornices will form above these aspects. The older snowpack will remain stable. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.
Forecast Weather Influences: Light East-North-Easterly winds overnight will slowly increase through the day to become fresh in the afternoon. It will remain dry and very cold. Observed Weather Influences: It was a dry and very cold day with light to moderate Easterly winds. ObservedSnowStability: A layer of soft snow, present on all aspects and gaining depth with altitude, is generally stable. Wind redistribution is forming very isolated and shallow accumulations of unstable windslab mainly on South-West and West aspects above 1000 metres. The older snowpack is firm and stable. The avalanche hazard is Low.
