Fresh wind slabs represent the main danger.
As a consequence of a strong northeasterly wind, further wind slabs will form in the course of the day in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls. The small quantity of fresh snow as well as the small wind slabs are lying on the unfavourable surface of an old snowpack on shady slopes. These can be released. The avalanches are small and can be released by a single winter sport participant. Caution is to be exercised at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack. As a consequence of warming, the likelihood of moist avalanches being released will increase gradually especially on extremely steep slopes.
10 to 15 cm of snow has fallen above approximately 2000 m. As a consequence of new snow and a strong to storm force northwesterly wind, mostly small wind slabs formed by Monday. In all aspects snow depths vary greatly above approximately 2200 m, depending on the infuence of the wind. Below approximately 1900 m from a snow sport perspective, insufficient snow is lying. On steep sunny slopes below approximately 2500 m a little snow is lying. The snowpack is not distinctly layered. Shady slopes: The snowpack consists of faceted crystals.
The avalanche danger will persist.
