As a consequence of new snow and a strong to storm force southwesterly wind, extensive wind slabs will form over a wide area. Single winter sport participants can release avalanches easily. Natural avalanches are possible as the day progresses, in particular medium-sized ones. Avalanche prone locations for dry avalanches are to be found in particular on steep west, north and east facing slopes above the tree line, also on steep shady slopes in areas close to the tree line. The avalanche prone locations are barely recognisable because of the poor visibility. Caution and restraint are advisable.

Over a wide area 20 to 30 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, will fall. As a consequence of a strong to storm force wind from southwesterly directions, extensive wind slabs will form. The fresh wind slabs are lying on top of a weakly bonded old snowpack in particular on west to north to east facing aspects. They are lying on soft layers on shady slopes. Above the tree line snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind.
