On steep shady slopes and in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain avalanches are possible, even large ones.

Snowpack Structure

The snowpack remains unstable in particular on steep slopes. Shady slopes where weaknesses exist in the old snowpack are especially dangerous.
