Snowpack Structure

The snowpack will be well bonded in the early morning. Sunshine and high temperatures will give rise as the day progresses to increasing moistening of the snowpack.

Avalanche Activity

On very steep slopes small and medium-sized moist loose snow avalanches are possible as a consequence of warming during the day.

The early morning will see favourable conditions generally. In steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the hard crust. Increase in danger of moist avalanches in the afternoon. Some small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized natural avalanches are possible. This applies on very steep northwest, north and east facing slopes between approximately 1400 and 2100 m, as well as on very steep sunny slopes between approximately 1900 and 2700 m. Avalanches can in some places be released by people.
