Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will continue to soften and thaw at all levels. Overall the snow will remain well bonded but surface instabilities are possible on any steep slope, particularly where exposed to the sun. Any remaining cornices will be prone to collapse. Snow cover will be very patchy below 900 metres with most cover being encountered on the highest mountains of the main Cairngorm Plateau. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Remaining dry with the freezing level above the summits. Fresh winds from the South-South-East are expected. Observed Weather Influences: A bright sunny day with the freezing level lifting above all the summits. Winds were very light from the South. ObservedSnowStability: The older snowpack is still firm in many shaded areas otherwise surface layers are softening at all levels but remain well bonded. Snow cover is very patchy below 900 metres with most cover being encountered on the highest mountains of the main Cairngorm Plateau. The avalanche hazard is Low.
