Forecast Snow Stability: After some surface instabilities overnight the remaining snowpack will become generally well bonded. Greatest amounts of snow will remain on North through East to South-East aspects above 950 metres. At lower elevations, the patchy snow cover will continue to diminish. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Overnight gale force South-Westerly winds will back, become North-Easterly and ease to light by mid morning. Snow showers, falling as rain below 900 metres will clear by dawn. The 900 metre freezing level will rise to 1000 metres through the day. Observed Weather Influences: A wet day, sleet on the highest summits with gale force South-Westerly winds. Freezing Level was around 1100 metres. ObservedSnowStability: The remaining snow has started to consolidate at all levels. Specific areas of moderately bonded windslab persist around very steep gully tops and corrie rims above 1000 metres. Below this height, the existing moist snowpack is stable and well bonded. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
