New snow and wind slabs require caution, in the regions exposed to snowfall in particular on very steep slopes.
10 to 20 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, fell yesterday above approximately 1800 m. As a consequence of wind from northeasterly directions, soft wind slabs formed. They are lying on a crust in particular on steep sunny slopes and at low and intermediate altitudes. The soft wind slabs are easy to recognise and can be released by large loads in particular. The solar radiation will give rise as the day progresses to increasing consolidation of the snowpack in particular on steep sunny slopes. This situation will give rise to moistening of the snowpack at low altitude.
