Forecast Snow Stability: Overnight, unstable windslab will continue to form in steep wind sheltered places mainly on North-West through North to South-East aspects above 800 metres. Strong winds will continue to transported snow during the day forming further accumulations of weakly bonded windslab adding to the existing unstable snowpack and avalanches are likely. Sheltered gullies, scarp slopes and steep coire rims will be particularly affected. Cornices will be very fragile. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.

Forecast Weather Influences: Overnight, freezing level at around 400 metres with snow showers these will be heavy at times on strong Westerly winds. Mostly dry on Sunday but cold with the freezing level lowering to 200 metres. Winds will be fresh to strong mainly North-Westerly. Observed Weather Influences: Heavy snow fell for most of the day mainly above 400 metres and at times to slightly lowers levels. Deep accumulations of fresh drifting snow at higher elevations. The freezing level was around 500 metres and strong winds were South-South-Westerly.

ObservedSnowStability: Unstable windslab was forming in wind sheltered locations mainly on North-West through North to East aspects above 800 metres. Avalanche activity was recorded this afternoon on a North-East aspect. Sheltered gullies and steep coire rims are particularly affected. Fragile cornices exist above wind sheltered steep coire rims and ridge lines. The avalanche hazard is Considerable.
