Forecast Snow Stability: Further accumulations of soft unstable windslab will add to the existing deposits. Most affected will be sheltered East to South aspects above 900 metres. At lower levels the snowpack will be less wind affected and will remain deep and soft with better stability. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.
Forecast Weather Influences: It will remain below freezing at all levels with some further snowfall through the period. North-Westerly winds will slowly ease. Observed Weather Influences: It remained very cold with North-Westerly winds increasing through the day. There were a few light snow showers. Temperatures were below freezing at all levels. ObservedSnowStability: The strengthening winds have started to redeposit the soft snowpack as unstable windslab on wind sheltered locations. Most affected are East to South aspects above 900 metres. At lower levels the snowpack is less wind affected, the snowpack is softer, and stability is better. The avalanche hazard is Considerable.
