Forecast Snow Stability: Overnight redistribution of dry, light deposits will lead to more widespread windslab development. North through East to South and South-West aspects above 850 metres will be most affected. Stability will be poor in steep wind sheltered locations, such as corrie rims and gully tops. Deep drifts will be encountered in lee locations at lower elevations. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: A clear start but becoming cloudier by late afternoon with a trace of snow. Freezing at all levels overnight but rising to 300 metres during the day. Winds, strong overnight from the West-North-West but easing by morning. Will back to the South then the South-South-East by afternoon, becoming moderate in strength. Observed Weather Influences: A bright start to the day, becoming cloudier with light snow by early afternoon. Midday temperature was -4.6 degrees at 930 metres. Winds were fresh in the morning but eased in strength from the North-West. ObservedSnowStability: There is a blanket of generally unconsolidated snow from low levels. Unstable windslab continues to develop in wind sheltered locations on East through South to West aspects above 900 metres. Gully tops and steep corrie rims are particularly affected. Exposed terrain is firm and scoured. Some deep drifts at lower levels. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
