The natural avalanche activity will gradually increase. As a consequence of the sometimes moderate westerly wind the avalanche prone locations will become more prevalent as the day progresses. The wind slabs will form in particular adjacent to ridgelines and at high altitudes. These places are sometimes covered with new snow and are difficult to recognise. They can in some places be released by people. The conditions are unfavourable for ski touring. In all aspects as well as in all altitude zones less snow than usual is lying. The Avalanche Warning Service currently has only a small amount of information.

Up to 40 cm of snow, and up to 60 cm in some localities, has fallen since yesterday above approximately 1900 m. The new snow of the weekend is lying on surface hoar in some places in particular on very steep shady slopes above approximately 2200 m. In particular in the south and in the west below approximately 2500 m from a snow sport perspective, insufficient snow is lying. Also in all regions above approximately 2500 m snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. Faceted weak layers exist in the bottom section of the snowpack in particular on rocky shady slopes.

The avalanche danger will persist. As a consequence of the solar radiation, the likelihood of dry and wet avalanches being released will increase a little in particular on very steep sunny slopes below approximately 2600 m.
