The number and size of avalanche prone locations will increase with altitude. This applies in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas on steep slopes above approximately 2300 m. The fresh and older wind slabs are in some cases prone to triggering. They can be released by a single winter sport participant. The somewhat older wind slabs are covered with new snow and therefore barely recognisable. As a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation individual mostly small wet loose snow avalanches are possible.

In particular along the border with France, along the border with Switzerland 5 to 15 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, fell on Friday above approximately 1800 m. At high altitudes and in high Alpine regions snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. Individual weak layers exist in the snowpack on shady slopes. In particular in shady places that are protected from the wind above approximately 2000 m: Towards its surface, the snowpack is soft; its surface consists of loosely bonded snow.

The avalanche danger will persist.
