LO for 20.12 Snowpack continues to consolidate as freezing level lowers. Scattered snow showers expected. Avalanche hazard Low.

Forecast Snow Stability: Insignificant amounts of fresh snow will be found in steep wind sheltered locations on a North-West, North and North-East aspect above 800 metres. The existing snowpack will continue to stabilise in the cooler temperatures. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: The freezing level will gradually lower to 800 metres. A dry evening with light snow showers throughout the day. Strong southerly winds remain constant. Observed Weather Influences: A mild day with continuous rain at all levels. Winds were strong from the South and the freezing level remained above summit level. ObservedSnowStability: After an overnight period of instability, the remaining saturated snowpack continues to stabilise. Greatest accumulations can be found on West through North to North-East aspects above 800 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
