As a consequence of the strong wind the prevalence and size of the avalanche prone locations will increase. Backcountry touring calls for extensive experience in the assessment of avalanche danger and restraint.

In particular in the regions exposed to precipitation and on wind-loaded slopes medium-sized and, in isolated cases, large slab avalanches are possible as a consequence of the strong wind. The large quantity of fresh snow as well as the many extensive wind slabs can be released easily, even by a single winter sport participant, in all aspects above the tree line. Stability tests and avalanches triggered by explosives show an unfavourable avalanche situation. Especially in the regions exposed to heavier precipitation the avalanches can be released in deep layers of the snowpack.
In all regions the wind slabs will increase in size additionally. The fresh snow as well as the extensive wind slabs are bonding poorly with the old snowpack in all aspects. The various wind slabs have bonded poorly with each other and the old snowpack.
