Forecast Snow Stability: Fresh unstable windslab will be deposited in wind sheltered areas, mainly on North through East to South-East aspects above 900 metres. Accumulations gaining depth will generally be localised. Fragile cornices will build above these aspects. The old snowpack will be generally stable and its surface will refreeze in the colder conditions. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: Winds will be moderate to strong, Westerly during the evening then West-South-Westerly through the morning and backing Southerly during the afternoon. The freezing level will generally be around 800 metres. Snow showers above 700 metres are expected throughout the period. Observed Weather Influences: The freezing level rose from around 1050 metres to above all summits during the morning. Winds were strong mainly South-Westerly. Generally light showers, initially fell as wet snow on the highest summits, then as rain at all levels. ObservedSnowStability: The old snowpack continues to slowly thaw, and is generally stable on all aspects and at all levels. The early dusting of new snow was not significant, and is thawing at all levels. The avalanche hazard is Low.
