Highlights

Up to 10" of new snow has fallen in the Blues overnight with another 2"-3" of snow today. Snow water equivalent (SWE) was 1.5" of water since yesterday morning which is a lot of water weight for a snow pack in a 24 hour time period. Until this new load has time to bond to old snow surfaces dangerous avalanche conditions exist on slopes 35 degrees and steeper.

The new snow overnight and today rests upon a slick stout melt freeze crust. That crust is an ideal avalanche  sliding surface. Avoid recreating on slopes steeper than 35 degrees.
