Forecast Snow Stability: Localised areas of unstable windslab will develop on steep locations on East through South to South-West aspects above 1000 metres. Areas most affected will be gully tops, corrie rims and other wind sheltered locations. Fragile cornices will start to develop. The old snowpack will remain stable and well bonded. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.
Forecast Weather Influences: A dry day with fresh North-Westerly winds. The freezing level will be around 600 metres gradually rising to 800 metres throughout the day. Observed Weather Influences: A dry day with very light winds from the North-West. The freezing level was around 700 metres. ObservedSnowStability: A general uniform covering of fresh snow is present above 600 metres on all aspects. Isolated areas of unstable windslab have developed on steep locations above 1000 metres on South-East to South-West aspects. The old snow is stable and well bonded. The avalanche hazard is Low.
