Snowpack
The new snow and snowdrift from the weekend is still sometimes prone to triggering in the north. This is particularly the case in areas that are protected from the wind, where it has been deposited on a faceted surface or on surface hoar (hoar frost). There are also some faceted weak layers deeper in the old snowpack. These are still prone to triggering in isolated cases, especially on western, northern and eastern slopes.
There is still very little snow on the southern flank of the Alps and in central Grisons, so ski tours are still hardly possible in some places.

It will be mostly sunny in the mountains. As the day progresses, high cirrostratus clouds will gather from the west.

It will often be cloudy in the north. It will be quite sunny in central Grisons, along the Main Alpine Ridge and south of it. The zero-degree level will be just under 3000 m. There will be a moderate westerly wind.
The danger of dry avalanches will continue to decrease. With the consequences of solar radiation and heat, moist snow slides are possible. Individual gliding avalanches are possible.
Thursday
It will often be cloudy. Precipitation will set in from the west. The snowfall level will initially be around 2000 m in the west and 1800 m in the east. This will sink towards the evening. There will be a strong southwesterly wind. The avalanche danger will increase slightly, especially in the west and north with new fallen snow, wind and rain.
