Regions

Kananaskis, Bow Valley, Highwood Pass, North 40, Spray - KLakes.

Easy travel out there but you might need ski crampons in places where the surface is hard.

Confidence

Avalanche Summary

No new avalanches reported or observed today.

Snowpack Summary

If we do get some snow on Friday with the strong SW winds, expect some small wind slabs in lee features and cross loaded gullies. Otherwise..........

The surface consists of a hard surface and crusts that overly a generally well consolidated snowpack. The Jan 24 and Jan 3 surface hoar layers are mostly decomposed and can be found down around 15cm and 50cm respectively, producing hard resistant planar results.

Weather Summary

Friday will be mostly couldy with flurries and wait for it....up to 3cm of snow. Winds will be moderate to strong from the SW.
