Highlights

Conditions in Seward and Lost Lake are generally stable. We think it is unlikely a person will trigger an avalanche, but there is always a chance of finding an unstable pocket of snow in steep and rocky terrain. Maintain safe travel protocols like traveling one at a time in steep terrain, choosing good safe spots, and watching partners closely in case you get surprised.

Avalanche Discussion

Ridgetop winds are relatively light for a change and there should be some soft snow left out there to enjoy. If you find yourself in steep and rocky terrain there may be a lingering Wind Slab out there. Wind Slab's feel like firm snow over softer snow and old, stubborn slabs could let you get way out onto the slope before they release. Ensure your safe spots are safe and travel one at a time in steep terrain to reduce your exposure.
