Snowpack Summary

Following the rain that fell from Saturday to Sunday (between 20 and 24 mm), a new crust has formed on the surface of the snowpack. This crust rests on a 3 to 5 cm layer of moist snow and another crust formed on December 1. With Monday's cold temperatures, these crusts could quickly become difficult to distinguish. At the beginning of the season, the height of the snowpack varies from 20 to 45 cm in general and up to 70 to 80 cm in areas of maximum accumulation. Conditions remain marginal, with barely enough snow to cover obstacles and a crust that makes travel difficult and hazardous.
