Central Cascades

Avalanches will be unlikely on Friday.  We may receive a bit of new snow, but it won't be enough to raise the avalanche hazard or create any significant avalanche problems.  It is always worth making good habits, and sticking with our safe travel techniques.

On Thursday Wet Loose avalanches were observed at Hayrick Butte, but with falling temperatures snow surfaces will refreeze and we can take Wet Loose avalanches off our problem list.  Snow surfaces on Thursday varied widely by aspect and elevation.  An inch of new snow on Friday won't be enough to create any new avalanche problems.  Hopefully we'll get enough new snow over the next few days to make for nice wintry riding.
