Highlights

The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE today. With overnight temperatures just below freezing the snowpack will soften quickly in the morning hours. As temperatures warm the potential to trigger wet loose and slab avalanches will rapidly increase in steep terrain. Once triggered these slides could step down to deeper layers of weak faceted snow or to the ground in areas with a shallow snowpack.
