Highlights
The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE today. Some new snow and strong west to southwest winds are loading avalanche starting zones and steep gullies. This new load on an existing weak old snowpack and warm temperatures will combine to create unstable conditions. Dense slabs several feet deep are likely to be easily triggered today on steep wind loaded aspects. Wet loose and wet slab avalanches could release to the ground in steep areas affected by warm temperatures or rain.
