Recent snowfall and strong winds increased your chances of triggering small avalanches where you find wind-drifted slabs over weak snow. That said, prior to the recent snowfall, many slopes were bare or heavily wind-affected, which means any avalanches will be small and limited to areas with previous snow coverage. Generally safe conditions exist on most sheltered slopes where the new snow is unconsolidated.
A winter storm is expected to arrive on Tuesday, increasing avalanche danger over the coming days.
