Avalanche Summary

Thursday's storm dropped rain at low elevations and six to twelve inches of dense snow up high. Erratic winds during the storm drifted snow into unusual places. Friday, you might trigger a small dry slab avalanche in a wind-drifted feature early in the day. By the afternoon, you can push loose avalanches on many slopes where the new snow becomes wet and sticky. An avalanche in continuously steep terrain could grow dangerously large, possibly breaking down to a crust buried around one to two feet deep. Start and end your day early.
