Avalanche Activity

The weather will be mild. The spring-like weather conditions will give rise to softening of the snowpack.

The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular at the base of rock walls, and in gullies and bowls. Individual wet and gliding avalanches are possible. Places where weaknesses exist in the old snowpack are unfavourable. Backcountry tours should be concluded early.

Snowpack Structure

Snow cover is absent or patchy in many areas, especially on southern slopes. Due to the temperatures, the snowpack is steadily decreasing. The weather conditions will give rise to increasing moistening of the snowpack. Individual weak layers exist in the snowpack on shady slopes.

Tendency

Continuous warming. The weather will be partly cloudy.
