Greatest amounts are mostly above 950m on North-West through North to Easterly aspects. Patchy and snow ribbons below. As the day progresses the snowpack will begin to refreeze and become more consolidated. Ice and rockfall hazard still possible below crags. The avalanche hazard will be Low

Forecast Weather Influences: Winds very strong South-Westerly overnight veering to become North-Westerly and lessening in strength during the day becoming light by the end of the afternoon. Becoming cooler, freezing level above the tops overnight Thursday lowering to 700m or so by the end of the forecast period. Precipitation falling as rain at first but slowly turning to sleet and snow showers by daybreak Friday, then it is expected to be dry thereafter. Observed Weather Influences: A wet and mild day with rain to summit levels with the occasional sleety shower. Winds strong South-Westerly. Poor visibility. ObservedSnowStability: A diminishing snowpack with greatest amounts above 950 metres on North-West through North to Easterly aspects. Ribbons and patches of snow below this level but above 800m. The snowpack although soft and moist to depth at all altitudes, is generally stable throughout. The avalanche hazard is Low.
