As a consequence of new snow and a moderate to strong northeasterly wind, sometimes avalanche prone wind slabs will form in the late morning in particular in places that are protected from the wind. In all aspects medium-sized and, in isolated cases, large slab avalanches are possible. In particular in the regions with a lot of snow the avalanches can penetrate even deep layers.
A lot of snow has fallen over a wide area. In some places new snow and wind slabs are lying on a moist old snowpack.
