Avalanche Activity

Slab avalanches are the main danger.

Gullies and bowls where weaknesses exist in the old snowpack are especially unfavourable. Avalanches can as before be released, in particular by large loads and reach medium size. Mostly small natural avalanches are possible below approximately 1800 m.

Snowpack Structure

The wind will be moderate to strong. In gullies and bowls above approximately 1800 m a lot of snow is lying. In the last few days sometimes deep wind slabs formed in particular in gullies and bowls and behind abrupt changes in the terrain. In some places wind slabs are lying on soft layers.
