The avalanche risk is low. Small slab avalanches can be triggered in extremely steep gullies and bowls in isolated places at high altitudes.

There is still little snow. The snowpack is damp or crusted can form in places. In the higher elevations, angular snow crystals continue to weaken the stability on shady slopes.

Initially clearing during the night, increasing clouds from the south-west after midnight. The south-westerly wind will become stronger. Lots of clouds on Saturday, the sun will shine through here and there in the morning. The cloud base will only decrease during the afternoon and the peaks will still be clear in the morning. Towards evening, a cold front will move in from the north-west. It will bring increasing snow showers, freshening north-westerly winds and cooling. The temperature at an altitude of 2000 metres will be around -1 degree. The temperature at an altitude of 1500 metres will be between -0 and 3 degrees. Strong winds with gusts of around 60 km/h from the north-east to south-west.

Temperatures will plummet in the night to Sunday with a stormy north-westerly wind. There will be frequent snow showers in Upper Styria, most of them in the northern Alps. The Koralpe will not get any significant new fallen snow. No significant change in the avalanche danger is expected.
