Forecast Snow Stability: The existing snowpack will remain hard, icy and stable throughout. Some fresh windslab deposits are expected, mainly at the top of slopes and gullies with a North to East aspect above 900 metres. However, these deposits are likely to be shallow and generally avoidable. The avalanche hazard will be Low.
Snowpack Structure
Forecast Weather Influences: After a few overnight snow showers a generally dry day is expected. South-Westerly winds will ease through the period. The freezing level will be around 800 metres. Observed Weather Influences: It was a dry day with some good sunny spells. The freezing level was around 1000 metres. ObservedSnowStability: The previously wet snowpack has consolidated and frozen in the colder conditions. It is hard icy and stable at all levels. Stability is good throughout. The avalanche hazard is Low.
