Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will remain generally well consolidated and stable in all locations. Pockets of fresh windslab may accumulate in steep wind sheltered terrain at highest summit levels, mainly North to East aspects, but amounts not expected to be significant. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Light rain and summit snow expected overnight and in the morning. Drier in the afternoon. Gale force Southerly wind will gradually moderate through the day, veering West pre-dawn, returning South later. The freezing level will fluctuate around 1000 metres overnight, lowering to around 950 metres daylight hours. Observed Weather Influences: A bright start, followed by rain, preceded by summit snow, by mid to late morning. Strengthening South-East to South winds. The freezing level was at the highest summit level initially, rising above summits later. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is generally well consolidated and stable in all locations. There is a surface crust above 500 metres and firm snow exists at higher elevations. Some surface softening occurring in the afternoon. The avalanche hazard is Low.
