Individual avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas and at transitions into gullies and bowls. Older wind slabs are mostly small and can be released in isolated cases.

As a consequence of the moderate wind, snow drift accumulations formed. This applies in particular at elevated altitudes. The fresh wind slabs are lying on a crust in particular on very steep shady slopes above approximately 2500 m. The old snowpack is largely stable and its surface has a melt-freeze crust that is strong in many cases. Adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas as well as in high Alpine regions the amount of snow is subject to significant local variations. In particular on sunny slopes below approximately 2400 m from a snow sport perspective, insufficient snow is lying.
